Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Zion). In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 75-74 win over the Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.

Mt. Zion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Norrington led the charge by putting up 20 points and six rebounds. Darrell Martin was another key player, posting 15 points and six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Elite Scholars Academy lost on Monday, don't look at Jordan Miller. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Miller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Charles-Jones, who put up 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Mt. Zion's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Mt. Zion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-41 loss against Banneker on the 4th. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-36 defeat against Lake Oconee Academy on the 3rd.
