Meanwhile, Hoover came up short against Otay Ranch on Tuesday and fell 44-37.
La Jolla's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
La Jolla opened the new year with a less-than-successful 57-45 defeat to Hoover. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hoover's Jewel Parker, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
