The Smethport Hubbers lost against the Northern Potter Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Smethport's rough 43-21 defeat to Northern Potter might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Smethport in their matchups with Northern Potter: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Smethport still got an impressive performance from Elizabeth Hungiville, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Hungiville is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Goodman, who scored three points along with six rebounds.
Smethport's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northern Potter, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
Smethport will play host again and welcome Oswayo Valley, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oswayo Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Northern Potter, they will head out on the road to face off against North Penn-Mansfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully North Penn-Mansfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
