On Friday, the Lake Central Indians faced the Jennings County Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lake Central had to suffer through a rough 60-22 loss at the hands of Jennings County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake Central has scored all season.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kennedie Burks, who scored five points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Wimberly, who scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Lake Central and nudges their season record down to 12-3. As for Jennings County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
Lake Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. One thing working in Indian Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests. As for Jennings County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bedford North Lawrence at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Bedford North Lawrence is ranked fifth, while Jennings County is ranked ninth).
