The Reed-Custer Comets waltzed into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 34-24 victory over Herscher. This was payback for Reed-Custer, who suffered a 42-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Kaylee Tribble continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Keenan, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Reed-Custer's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Herscher, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Reed-Custer will stay at home for another game and welcome Peotone at 6:45 p.m. on December 11th. Peotone presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Reed-Custer in Illinois (Peotone is ranked 163rd, while Reed-Custer is ranked 443rd). Herscher will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Clifton Central at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th.
