The Live Oak Acorns were the 46-35 winner over the El Camino Colts when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Live Oak took a 30-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Camino. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Live Oak has scored all season.
Live Oak's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kathliyah Clement, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Rian Henderson who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Clement continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
El Camino's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Flores, who scored eight points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Flores has scored at least 25% of El Camino's points. Another player making a difference was Basco Chelsea, who scored eight points.
Live Oak's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for El Camino, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Live Oak will be home for the holidays to greet Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Camino, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit Shasta at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
