The Christian Academy Warriors and the Lanesville Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Christian Academy Warriors had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Eagles on the road and fell 56-26. Christian Academy's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Shields and Addison Jackson. Shields scored eight points, while Jackson scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Kerr, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Kerr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Hadley Crosier was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Christian Academy now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Lanesville, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-1.
Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lanesville's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Rock Creek Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Eagles are ranked 24th).
