While Gatewood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers 9-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Riley Roberts made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Lily Arthur was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Ellie McMillian was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
