Softball Recap: Twin River Wins Going Away Against Pierce

Twin River won the last time they faced Pierce and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans blew past the Bluejays 11-3. Considering the Titans have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Laynie Allen looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Kielyn Dohmen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JLee Van Driel, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Twin River hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Twin River moved to 13-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pierce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Twin River is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pierce will challenge rival Logan View/Scribner-Snyder at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
