Basketball Game Preview: Galt Warriors vs. El Dorado Cougars

Galt is 0-10 against El Dorado since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Galt Warriors will venture away from home to take on the El Dorado Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Galt is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Bradshaw Christian on Friday as Galt made off with a 40-15 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Galt's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Emily Pena, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points along with seven boards and five steals, and Skyler Moore, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points along with five boards and four steals. What's more, Moore also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Antanella Feilbach was another key player, putting up five points and nine rebounds.

Galt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for El Dorado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 32-19 victory over Rosemont on Thursday.

Galt better focus on containing Addisyn Bare and Blake Diegle as the pair were huge in El Dorado's win. Bare posted four points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Diegle put up five points and 11 boards. Bare has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Galt's win ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12. As for El Dorado, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Galt was dealt a bruising 60-20 defeat at the hands of El Dorado when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Galt was down 32-12.
