This season hasn't been kind to the San Juan Spartans, who are still winless after their 11th match. They had to suffer through a rough 47-18 loss at the hands of Golden Sierra. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss San Juan has suffered since November 25, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Golden Sierra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carly Sherman, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sherman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Tory, who scored 14 points.
San Juan bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.5 points per game. As for Golden Sierra, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Juan will take on Rio Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Vista will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Golden Sierra, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Esparto at 6:00 p.m.
