Laguna Creek suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Kennedy 80-45. While losing is never fun, Laguna Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while Kennedy is ranked 223rd).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Grant's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Davis Sr. 54-48. Grant has not had much luck with Davis Sr. recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Laguna Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.
Laguna Creek was taken down by Grant 81-20 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Laguna Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
