If the North Creek Jaguars were feeling good off their 60-40 takedown of the Jackson Timberwolves last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Creek took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastlake. North Creek has not had much luck with Eastlake recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Peyton Bareither and Mikah Hammerquist certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bareither dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Hammerquist scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Geller, who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Tatum Wood continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastlake, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Wood has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Darcy Mccoy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
North Creek has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Eastlake, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Creek will take on Bothell/Inglemoor at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastlake, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Issaquah at 7:15 p.m. Issaquah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Eastlake is ranked 34th).
