Dixon strolled past Mesa Verde with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-28. That's another feather in the cap for Dixon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Mesa Verde saw an underclassman step up: Jaiden Alexander scored three points along with 17 rebounds and two steals. Alexander has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Ruby Solis was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Dixon's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Mesa Verde, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
Dixon will be playing at home against Mira Loma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Mira Loma is ranked 897th, while Dixon is ranked 889th). As for Mesa Verde, they will head out on the road to challenge Rio Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rio Linda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
