The Northgate Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Acalanes, falling 62-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northgate has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Northgate had strong showings from Amelia Schrag, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, and Ava Nicolas, who scored seven points along with two steals. Hana Neuman was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Northgate dropped their record down to 17-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Acalanes, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.
Northgate will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Campolindo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Acalanes, they will head out on the road to square off against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Diablo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Dons are ranked 28th).
