Williams captured MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors last season, averaging 29.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for San Ysidro (San Diego).
The 6-foot-2 guard broke the all-time San Diego Section scoring record with 77 points
in a 116-52 victory over Kearney (San Diego) last year.
Williams dropped 35 or more points 12 times last season, recording 11 double-doubles and a pair of triple-doubles.
Lake Norman Christian finished 31-2 in 2019-20 and will be making the transition to the competitive NCISAA this season as an independent. The addition of Williams only heightens expectations.
Plenty of attention surrounds the sophomore's college decision as Williams released his Top 10 schools this summer that included five historically black colleges or universities with Alabama State, Arizona State, Hampton, Memphis, North Carolina Central, San Diego State, Tennessee State, Texas Southern and USC making the cut.
