Video: Mikey Williams highlights Watch the sensational start to his freshman season at San Ysidro.
Though the nation's most publicized freshman is 120 miles north in Bronny James at nationally ranked Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth), the most productive ninth-grader is this 6-foot-3 guard who is filling up the hoop just a few miles from California's border with Mexico.
In his high school debut, Williams went for 41 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 98-46 victory over El Cajon Valley (El Cajon).
He backed that up three days later in his second start by dropping 50 points and collecting seven rebounds during an 85-77 win over Mission Bay (San Diego).
While he hasn't quite kept up that pace after seven games, he's still the nation's second leading scorer among freshmen at 26.9 per game and earned early mention in the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year discussion.
His production and stylish play have obviously drawn the attention of the masses, proven by the addition of his own individual page on
