Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Patrick Henry unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Point Loma Pointers by a score of 4-3. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pointers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brady Gunn was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Gunn was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Gunn wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Cappelletti, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Cappelletti's first of the season.

Patrick Henry's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Point Loma, their record now sits at 11-3-1.

While Patrick Henry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
