This season hasn't been kind to the Franklin Regional Panthers, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a serious blow against Blackhawk on Monday, falling 61-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Franklin Regional has scored all season.
Blackhawk found their leader in underclassman Aubree Hupp, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Hupp also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Romigh, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Franklin Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Blackhawk, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Regional will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Penn Hills at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Blackhawk won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mars at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Mars will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Blackhawk is ranked 25th).
