The St. Patrick's Irish won the last time they faced the Cambridge Trojans, and things went their way on Saturday too. St. Patrick's snuck past Cambridge with a 42-36 victory.
St. Patrick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jensen Becher, who scored ten points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Becher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cara Roberg, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jalen Kent, who scored 13 points. Brylyn Springer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
St. Patrick's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-15. As for Cambridge, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
St. Patrick's will head out on the road to face off against Dundy County-Stratton on Tuesday. Hopefully St. Patrick's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Cambridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Arapahoe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday.
