Pitman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Escalon Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pitman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Pitman lost to Patterson at home by a decisive 46-28 margin. While losing is never fun, Pitman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Patterson is ranked 45th).
Despite the defeat, Pitman had strong showings from Tusi Elisaia, who scored two points along with three steals, and Megan Deol, who scored two points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Escalon put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Orestimba on the road to the tune of 52-22. Considering Escalon has won seven contests by more than 21 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Pitman's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Escalon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Pitman might still be hurting after the 58-34 loss they got from Escalon in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pitman was down 34-9.
