Oceanside has gone a perfect 4-0 against Olympian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Oceanside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Olympian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Oceanside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against El Camino, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since May 3, 2025.
Benjamin Meyers got Oceanside off to a strong start despite the final result, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Olympian, as they earned their first away victory of the season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mar Vista a 5-0 shutout on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Esteban Diaz's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Nico Cintron was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Oceanside, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.
Oceanside was able to grind out a solid win over Olympian when the teams last played back in March of 2025, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
