After a string of five wins, the Liberty Ranch Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 57-40 fall against El Dorado. Liberty Ranch found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 25 to 14 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty Ranch lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sophia Felix. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Robbins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Alana Schneider was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 26 rebounds for El Dorado. Schneider has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Priest, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Liberty Ranch's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5. As for El Dorado, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Liberty Ranch will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rosemont at 7:00 p.m. Rosemont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 886th, while Liberty Ranch is ranked 302nd). As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to square off against Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradshaw Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
