The Corcoran Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They came out on top against Strathmore by a score of 38-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Corcoran also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Corcoran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Katalina Castillo out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Natalie Luna was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and three blocks.
Corcoran has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Strathmore, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7.
Corcoran will head out on the road to square off against Woodlake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Corcoran is coming into the matchup with five straight wins on the road, meaning Woodlake will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Strathmore, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. Strathmore is facing Granite Hills at the right time seeing as Granite Hills is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
