Holyoke is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Limon a ten-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Holyoke Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Limon Badgers at 11:00 a.m. Holyoke has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Wray/Yuma hit Holyoke with a four-run third inning last Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons lost 13-2 to the Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Holyoke saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Schlachter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Limon came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Rocky Ford with a sharp 15-9 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Badgers considering their two-run performance the game before.
Bryleigh Fox made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Limon let Alex Kuhns and Randi Carson run wild. Kuhns got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Carson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Carson has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessa Book, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Limon's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Holyoke, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.
