After flying high against the Lindhurst Blazers on Wednesday, the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos came back down to earth. Twelve Bridges was beaten by Bear River 65-37 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Twelve Bridges can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 765th, while Bear River is ranked 294th).
Despite the loss, Twelve Bridges saw an underclassman step up: Addison Carpenter scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaida Esparza, who scored five points along with five blocks.
Twelve Bridges' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Bear River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Twelve Bridges will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wheatland is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to face off against Lindhurst at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lindhurst is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
