Basketball Recap: Erin Jackson Key Part of a Team Effort in Apaches Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glendora, Centennial was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Compton Tarbabes with a sharp 71-46 win. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patience Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Compton, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Centennial will venture away from home to take on Artesia at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Compton, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Compton Early College at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
