James Logan is a perfect 10-0 against Kennedy since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The James Logan Colts will venture away from home to square off against the Kennedy Titans at 7:00 p.m. James Logan will be strutting in after a win while Kennedy will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, James Logan beat Newark Memorial 62-54. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Cougars are ranked 719th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James Logan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyliyah Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 boards. Miller has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Iwalani Lealao was another key player, putting up 16 points along with five assists and three steals.
James Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Kennedy suffered their biggest defeat since January 21st on Friday. They lost 63-40 to Moreau Catholic.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Payton Siquig and Mahlaysia Atkins. Atkins had a solid game and posted six points. Meanwhile, Siquig was balling out in the loss, going 7 of 16 en route to 15 points and six steals.
Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for James Logan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: James Logan has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went James Logan's way against Kennedy when the teams last played back in January, as James Logan made off with a 64-42 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Siquig, who went 8 for 19 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will James Logan still be able to contain Siquig? There's only one way to find out.
