Baseball Recap: Pebblebrook Wins Going Away Against South Cobb

Pebblebrook hadn't done well against South Cobb recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Pebblebrook blew past South Cobb 14-4. Considering the Falcons have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sinsaire Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pebblebrook is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Pebblebrook got a massive performance out of Jhaki Stewart, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. What's more, Stewart posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Criston Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pebblebrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pebblebrook and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for South Cobb, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Pebblebrook Falcons challenge Hillgrove Hawks at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. As for South Cobb, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on April 10.
