Softball Recap: Roosevelt Finds Home Field Redemption Against Timnath

There's no place like home for Roosevelt, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Timnath Cubs on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now won three in a row.

Roosevelt let Molly Vetter and Emily Beal run wild. Vetter went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Beal got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most runs Vetter has posted since back in September of 2024. Mandi Linder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Roosevelt hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Roosevelt now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Timnath, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-0 victory against Greeley Central on the 2nd. As for Timnath, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Northridge on the 29th.
