Softball Recap: Roosevelt's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Roosevelt won the last time they faced Timnath and things went their way on Thursday too. The Roughriders put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 11-1 win.

Molly Vetter and Emily Beal did most of the damage at the plate: Vetter went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Beal got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Beal has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mandi Linder, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Roosevelt hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Roosevelt's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Timnath, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roosevelt will challenge rival Greeley Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Timnath is set to take on their familiar foe Northridge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
