The North Allegheny Tigers won the last time they faced the Pine-Richland Rams, and things went their way on Thursday too. North Allegheny was the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over Pine-Richland. Given North Allegheny's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Pine-Richland is ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Pine-Richland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Zavasky. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Zavasky's ninth in a row with at least ten points.
North Allegheny pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pine-Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Seneca Valley the next time they take the court. Pine-Richland will head out to face Seneca Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while North Allegheny will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
