First Baptist had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-22 win over the Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen. With the Saints ahead 45-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.

First Baptist's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meredith Quinn, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Quinn has scored at least a third of First Baptist's points. Another player making a difference was Bella Jacobo-Redding, who went 8 for 20 en route to 23 points.

First Baptist was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garland Christian Academy only racked up five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Garland Christian Academy lost, don't look at Andee Sandlin. Despite the final result, she posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals. Sandlin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Maddy Harrington was another key player, putting up four points.

First Baptist's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.8 points over those games. As for Garland Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

First Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-59 victory against Ovilla Christian on the 4th.
