After a string of four wins, the Burlingame Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were beaten by Menlo School 62-27. Burlingame was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.
Menlo School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Xin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Xin posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Ruiqi Liu, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Burlingame's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Menlo School, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlingame's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Mateo at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. San Mateo will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Menlo School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th.
