Serrano is 8-2 against Hesperia since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Serrano will be playing in front of their home fans against Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. Serrano is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Serrano's last matchup with Burroughs could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. Serrano came up short against Burroughs, falling 18-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 22, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Serrano saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Bannon, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, while Hesperia put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Indio. Hesperia put the hurt on Indio with a sharp 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brenden Ozaki looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tristen Vanpool was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Hunter Mayer was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Hesperia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .580. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indio only posted an OBP of .160.
Serrano's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
