Dublin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Dodge County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dublin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dodge County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dublin took their victory against Dodge County in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Fighting Irish repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
