Beaumont United has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,120 points over their last 15 games.
Last Friday, Beaumont United faced Atascocita in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Beaumont United's rough 85-65 defeat to Atascocita might stick with them for a while. The loss put an end to Beaumont United's undefeated start to the season.
Despite the loss, Beaumont United had strong showings from Clarence Payia, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Weston Davis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Payia's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Kayde Dotson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Newman came up short against Madison Prep Academy last Thursday and fell 52-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newman has scored all season.
Beaumont United's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-1. As for Newman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
