The Tussey Mountain Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tussey Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
Tussey Mountain suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Everett by a score of 42-39. Tussey Mountain has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite their loss, Tussey Mountain saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aubree Weaver, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weaver has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Hall, who scored seven points.
Tussey Mountain struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They blew past Northern Bedford County 88-47 on the road. Southern Huntingdon County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Tussey Mountain has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Tussey Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Southern Huntingdon County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 47-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tussey Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
