Moose Lake/Willow River has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Barnum Bombers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Moose Lake/Willow River strolled past Mesabi East with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.
Meanwhile, Barnum put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Aitkin 41-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Barnum, who have now won six matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Barnum's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hayden Charboneau led the charge by throwing for 236 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Carlos Beckstrand was another key contributor, picking up 95 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Moose Lake/Willow River's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.6 points. As for Barnum, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
