Vista Murrieta is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Harvard-Westlake, sneaking past 8-6.

At the plate, RJ Holmes was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taytum Reeves, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, St. John Bosco won against JSerra Catholic two weeks ago with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Wednesday. The Braves narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Torrance 2-1.
Trevor Heishman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on James Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Micah Taguiam was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
St. John Bosco pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vista Murrieta, their record is now 23-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vista Murrieta has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. John Bosco struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
