Marietta hasn't had much luck against North Cobb recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Marietta's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
On Friday, Marietta needed a bit of extra time to put away Walton. They skirted past the Raiders 41-38. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Blue Devils were the better team in the second half.

Elijah Green
10/03/25 @ Walton | 85 |
09/19/25 vs Etowah | 58 |
09/12/25 @ Wheeler | 30 |
08/22/25 @ West Forsyth | 36 |
11/01/24 @ North Paulding | 89 |
Marietta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Green led the charge by picking up 85 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Green has posted since back in November of 2024. Another passer making a difference was Jayden Whiteside, who threw for 149 yards and four TDs.
Marietta didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Walton to a completion percentage of just 39.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Alec Huff and Danta Young, who each logged two passes deflected. Marietta wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.2%.
Meanwhile, North Cobb was not the first on the board back in September, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 24-17 victory over North Paulding. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
North Cobb found their leader in sophomore Zach Belyeu, who rushed for 169 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. With that strong performance, Belyeu is now averaging an impressive 109.5 rushing yards per game.
North Cobb didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Marcus Singleton. He is becoming a predictor of North Cobb's success: when he posts at least one interception the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The Warriors got some further help from Dylan Rainey: he forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles.
Marietta's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for North Cobb, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Marietta ended up a good deal behind North Cobb in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 38-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Belyeu, who rushed for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.
