It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Loara Saxons ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They snuck past La Quinta with a 43-39 win. Winning may never get old, but Loara sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Loara found their leader in underclassman Sophia Rangel, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angela Ngo, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, La Quinta still got an impressive performance from Katelyn Vo, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Vo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Katie Nguyen was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Loara's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. As for La Quinta, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Loara will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Amigos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Quinta, they will head out on the road to square off against Santiago at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
