There's no place like home for Southwest SD, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Mar Vista Mariners 55-39 on Monday. The Raiders have beaten the Mariners the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mariners has come to flipping the script.

Southwest SD's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazlyn Martinez, who posted 17 points. Analisa Valencia was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Mar Vista had strong showings from Allyson Bell, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Anissa Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Bell also posted six blocks, which is notable because Mar Vista is 2-1 when she posts at least three blocks, but 3-13 otherwise.

Southwest SD pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.5 points.
