The Paraclete Spirits will square off against the Saugus Centurions at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Paraclete's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Saugus has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, Paraclete beat Bishop Montgomery 5-2.
Brody Eveland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Julian Trejo and Joey Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Trejo went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. Parker Medlin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Saugus got themselves on the board against Quartz Hill on Saturday, but Quartz Hill never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 7-0 victory. Considering the Centurions have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Chase Kline, who gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Quartz Hill off the board. Kline also tossed a walk, which is notable because Saugus is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 9-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Joey Nuttall was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Saugus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 10-11 when he doesn't). Matt Long was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Paraclete's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Saugus, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paraclete hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Saugus struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Paraclete skirted past Saugus 2-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Do the Spirits have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Centurions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
