The Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Gunderson at home to the tune of 46-19. That 27 points margin sets a new team best for Yerba Buena this season.
Gunderson's loss came despite strong showings from Breanna Bartek and Chiemi Wong. Bartek dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 rebounds, while Wong scored three points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 52.6% of Gunderson's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Yerba Buena has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-9 record this season. As for Gunderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yerba Buena will take on Overfelt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Overfelt is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Gunderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Jose at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
