The Morse Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 74-62 to Mira Mesa. While losing is never fun, Morse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 898th, while the Marauders are ranked 402nd).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Barron Bilog, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayren Sunico, who scored 13 points.
Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Mira Mesa, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8.
Morse will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Tigers like a good challenge. As for Mira Mesa, they will head out on the road to square off against the Storm at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
