The Beecher Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Iroquois West Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Beecher is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, Beecher beat Momence 11-6.
Tyler Doran was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Chase Maher, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Beecher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Iroquois West was able to grind out a solid victory over Ridgeview on Tuesday, taking the game 4-1.
Brody Mueller was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Trumpower, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Beecher's record is now 17-8. As for Iroquois West, their record now sits at 9-11.
Iroquois West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Beecher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Iroquois West, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Beecher's hitters?
Beecher might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Iroquois West when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
