Sacramento is 8-2 against the Cougars since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sacramento Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Del Campo Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Del Campo took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sacramento, who comes in off a win.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, a fact Sacramento proved on Saturday. They secured a 53-47 W over Fortune Early College. The victory was just what Sacramento needed coming off of a 58-28 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for La ne Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sacramento's points. Another player making a difference was Ariyah Garrison, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Del Campo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 37-15 loss at the hands of Rio Americano. Del Campo has struggled against the Raiders recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Sacramento's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-14. As for Del Campo, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-17.
Everything came up roses for Sacramento against the Cougars in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 63-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacramento since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
