West Warwick hasn't had much luck against Prout recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wizards will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. West Warwick's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Prout's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
West Warwick is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: North Providence, who was ranked tenth at the time (West Warwick was ranked 13th). The Wizards' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 3-0 shutout on Sunday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wizards.
The result came thanks to Anthony Burt's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 19 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Proulx, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Dylan Provoyeur also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Prout posted their closest win since April 28th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Middletown, sneaking past 7-6.
Prout saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Chofay, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The Crusaders are 3-1 when Chofay posts one or more home runs, but 6-9 otherwise.
West Warwick's record is now 14-4. As for Prout, their record now sits at 9-10.
West Warwick's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Wizards have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Prout, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will West Warwick continue to outrun the ball?
West Warwick came up short against Prout in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, falling 10-5. Can the Wizards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
