Softball Recap: St. Johns Wins Going Away Against Window Rock

St. Johns never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Window Rock Fighting Scouts with a sharp 7-0 victory. Considering the Redskins have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylee Pulsipher was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Scarbrough, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

St. Johns hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Window Rock struck out 16 times.

St. Johns is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Window Rock, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

St. Johns didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-6 victory against Valley on the 16th. As for Window Rock, they will venture away from home to face off against Monument Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Scouts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
